We recognize that there are some concerns about the environmental impact of fireworks. The board takes environmental concerns seriously. Our decision to plan for fireworks in 2024, provided sufficient donations are received, is based on the following:

• The KLCA 2023 fireworks were enjoyed by many, many families.

• We believe providing a centralized display decreases the number of separate displays that would otherwise occur around the lake.

• Our fireworks display occurs in early August, after bird nesting season has ended.

• Current data indicates that contaminants that are deposited into the lake during a fireworks display do not approach levels that can cause impacts.
