KAWAGAMA PILSWIMAGE

Karin Ibscher will begin her perimeter swim around Kawagama and Bear Lakes this Canada Day long weekend. She will swim the 131 km distance in 48 legs (2 to 3 kms each) as shown on the map below, and would be happy to have fellow cottagers join for all or part of a leg. This year's swim is in support of three charities, if you’d like to support, please donate to one or more of the following:

CMHA is Canada’s largest mental health hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres supporting those struggling with addiction and facing other mental issues.

Moorelands provides life-changing experiences for economically disadvantaged children. They are transported to Moorelands Camp on the shores of our own Kawagama Lake for a week of fun, friendship and character building.

Lions Camp Dorset allows dialysis patients and their families to enjoy a vacation which wouldn’t otherwise be possible due to the necessity of treatment every second day for life. For many, this opportunity may be their last, as transplant lists are long.

If you’d like to virtually follow Karin on her journey around the lake, here is a link to the Facebook page dedicated to the Pilswimage.
