Our lake level has seen a steady decline since April 20. We expect the level to continue to decline until Target Operating level is achieved. Most of the snowpack has melted and no significant rainfall is forecast in the near term. Lake Levels Committee

Lake levels have been rising steeply since April 4th due to heavy rains and spring thaw. We expect the level will begin to subside due to our dam spillway, lower temps and less rain. Much of our snowpack has already melted.

The April 6 Kawagama Lake levels chart shows that we’re currently close to target. It is rising due to heavy rains received in the first few days of April combined with continuing snowmelt. Ice is beginning to show cracks and should be considered unsafe. Lake Levels committee
