Blind River Dam Update

On July 10, following the KLCA's request for more information regarding the Blind Dam Landing, we received the following official update from the County:

“Thank you for your correspondence regarding the public use of the Country Road 8 road allowance near Vista Road, commonly referred to as Blind Dam Landing. The County recognizes that this location has been used for many years as an informal public access point to Kawagama Lake and that it is valued by residents, visitors, and recreational users. However, the site is not a designated or assumed launch facility by the County or Algonquin Highlands. The site will not be blocked for public use, however, if there is misuse of the site, the access will be closed for launching. The County recommends that the public use an official boat launch. New signage will be installed indicating the site is not maintained for public use."
