The KLCA is pleased to host its 2nd annual family-friendly Fishing Derby on Kawagama Lake!!

-Participants can cast their lines beginning Saturday June 28th at 6am and have until 3pm on Sunday June 29th to reel in their prize fish!
-This derby is a “catch and release” event. Judging is done by photo submission, and after the photo is taken, the fish is to be released back into the water.
-All photo submissions to be sent at time of catch and emailed to klcafishingderby@gmail.com
-Anglers will use a ruler in the photo to demonstrate actual measurement. The fish will be measured to the nearest eighth of an inch.
-Register at https://www.klca.org/event-details-registration/kawagama-lake-fishing-derby no later than June 27th. Let us know which age category you are entering: Under 14 years of age for Longest Small mouth Bass, First Small mouth bass caught, smallest Small mouth bass; or 14 years and older for Longest Small Mouth Bass; or All ages category for Longest Lake trout
There is no cost to enter this derby! Great prizes to be won in each category. Winners will be contacted by email.

-Winners of each prize category to be announced and photos will be posted on KLCA’s website, Facebook and Instagram accounts. All prizes to be awarded at 4pm Sunday June 28 at Old Mill Marina.

Smallest Small mouth Bass
First Fish caught either Small mouth or Rock bass will be fine for the kids
14 years + Category -Longest Small Mouth bass
All Ages Category - Longest Lake trout
Note: No fishing license is required by the Ontario government between June 27 -July 6th , 2025.
