The Kawagama Lake Ice Out Challenge Opens On March 4!!

With the wacky weather we've seen this winter, we're kicking off Ice Out Challenge 2024 edition early! The keg (courtesy of Muskoka Brewery) and chair are in place, thanks to Bruce and Vanessa of Mountain Trout House Marina. When they hit the water, ( the keg and chair, not Bruce and Vanessa!), the ice is out for the purposes of this contest. As many as 3 people can select each date, so get your guesses in ASAP! This contest is open to 2024 KLCA members only, so, if you haven't renewed your membership this year, please visit klca.org to do so. The three winners who chose the correct date will win:

1. Given that prize packs include beer, participants must be 19 years or older to enter!

2. The date chosen to mark ‘ice out’ needs to be clearly demarcated for a winner to be chosen so we chose a camera everyone can access and the (hopefully) tangible event of the chair sinking, and the keg floating. Please do not infer anything far as safe marine navigation on or after the selected date, and please continue to follow your usual best practices as far as marine safety.
